Your route
You have most of a tank. Prices may change by the time you need fuel. Check the plan again after you've burned some fuel.
Prices can change before you get there, so this plan is for buying today. Miles by state are close estimates. The cost column is what you pay at the pump, plus the Kentucky and Virginia surcharge on the fuel you burn in those states. The surcharge is the same either way, so it doesn’t change which plan is cheaper. The savings counts the fuel tax you square up on your IFTA return, so it can differ from the difference between the two totals. Both plans include the fuel you want left when you get there. Always watch your own gauge.

Tomorrow's diesel prediction
Tomorrow's price prediction comes in each afternoon between 1 and 4 p.m. Eastern.
Refineries turn crude into diesel and sell it at fuel terminals at a wholesale price called the rack price. It changes every day.
Truck stops buy at the rack price, and their pump prices follow it, usually the next day.
How is the price predicted? It's not simple math. Every afternoon our system weighs several things together:
Daily wholesale rack moves at fuel terminals across the country
Next-day price changes from hundreds of truck stops
Recent price trends, day to day
Many years of price history
Run through thousands of calculations, they show where pump prices are most likely headed tomorrow.
How often are we right? We're right about 8 times out of 10, and even more often when prices make a big move.
How does this help you? It gives you a window into tomorrow. You'll know whether to fill up tonight before prices change at midnight, or wait and buy tomorrow. It isn't right every time, but about 8 times out of 10 it is.
This is a prediction based on past trends, not a guarantee.
